RING ROUTE

Route that begins and ends at the same point (departure) and in which the outward and return routes are different.

 

ROUND TRIP

Itinerary that begins and ends in the same place (departure) in which the outward and return routes are on the same paths.

 

CROSSING ROUTE

Itinerary that foresees the travel from a place to another different and distant place (in these cases it is foreseen a logistic organization indicated in the practical info)

CENTER-BASED ROUTE/DAISY ROUTE

Short round-trip itineraries (petal) having as central fulcrum to the support structure

LENGTH

The actual distance in kilometers (km) of an excursion or the sum of the stages of a multi-day trip. (It is calculated on digital and/or paper maps using GPS).

DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE

This is the sum in meters (m) of all ascents and descents between the starting point and the arrival point.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL

It represents the level of preparedness based on the type of physical effort required on a hike.

EASY

Excursions for neophytes who want to walk and ride in peace and enjoy the route without any particular effort. Also suitable for the elderly and children. Lengths up to a maximum of 9-10 km per day and total uphill less than 400m per day.

INTERMEDIATE

Excursions for enthusiasts with a minimum of training and resistance to walking or cycling. They require a habit of walking and have a few climbs, without representing significant physical commitments.

Length between 9km and 14km and total difference in height between 400m and 600m per day.

CHALLENGING

Excursions for those who are confident in their pace and pedalling, requiring a consolidated habit of walking, with important distances and climbs, suitable for experienced walkers.

Length between 14km and 20km and total difference in height between 600m and +1000m.
